My wife and I have eaten there several times and have always been pleased. Several curries, soups, noodles, as well as the typical Chinese offerings. The fresh spring rolls appetizer is highly recommended.

Food is good! I LOVE the pho...probably the only good reason to go back. Sorry to say...The service is not that great. The owner also appeared drunk one time when she came to the table to ask how our food was...it is attached to a bar. They also wont take their own coupons anymore. The waiter said because one of their staff members was using them to steal. We found that to be a really poor reason to punish the customer and bad idea to tell customers about stuff like that. I think they need a restaurant manager, its a pretty unprofessional environment. All that aside expect some really good Thai food there!!

Attached to the Best Western in Johnson City, we dined here after arriving around 10pm. Tired from a long drive from northern Virginia to Tennessee, this was our first stop in a cross country trip with our final destination being Las Vegas. There's a dining area complete with typical asian motifs; a pool table; bar; and lounge area. It was pretty busy on a Friday night and wanting to relax and unwind, we dined in the less busy dining room. The kitchen cranked out an order of gyoza that were small and basic. That was followed by the appetizer sampler, containing dry chicken satay, crab rangoon typical of a mediocre Chinese restaurant, egg rolls dominated by cabbage and little else, decent coconut shrimp, and spring rolls that were the highlight of the dish. With a large menu full of Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese fare, they do a decent job of creating popular dishes but lack the finesse in their execution to make them memorable. 2.5 Stars

Went for the first time. I'm from Jersey and Miami and tasted awesome Asian and Thai and honestly this place is very far from Asian and Thai. Ordered basil chicken and tried their pho Vietnamese noodle bowl and didn't even go beyond the first bite. The bowl tasted like dishwater with noodles and the basil chicken was nowhere near what it should be. Won't come back. If you want good Thai food try Tommy Thai They even charged us and instead replaced it with another entree. What makes them think that we would eat anything from their menu

We were trying to find a good place to get Pho in Johnson City, and this is definitely not the place! The beef was skeptical and the broth lacked flavor. Our waiter reeked of alcohol and cigarettes, and he accidentally charged the wrong amount to my credit card. There were also people loitering outside and the building itself did not seem like it was in a safe area.

Too bland. I ordered Kung Po Chicken which should have some heat & flavor to it. Service is good. We went on a Friday night early (5:30) and it was empty. The food is very pretty, it just needs more flavor. I had to add a bunch of salt & soy sauce to make it edible. Gyoza appetizers are good.

Exceptional service. Awesome lunch menu. Good drink specials. Love the hot and sour soup.

One of the best restaurants in Johnson City, if you like Asian food.! Have been there many times and never been disappointed! Always go with friends and it has become their go to restaurant as well. I like the Red Curry Beef but others have tried other items and love them too. Serving are large, price is reasonable, and the food is loaded with flavor! They can make it hotter if you like. They are closed on Mondays.

This restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem. From the exterior, you would not necessarily expect that much. But the food is absolutely fantastic, and this restaurant offers more diversity than anything else in the Tri-Cities, at least if you're looking for Pacific Rim cuisine. The owner is also extremely friendly typically comes around and talks to many of the guests. While this may not be important to some people, it shows that they care. I believe she told me she's in 4-5 Asian restaurants over the years. It shows because they really know their stuff. Occasionally they take part in the 7 course dinners that are sponsored by one of the local liquor stores. We were lucky enough to come to one of these. If you like Thai food then this place is heaven.

Had lunch there today. Ordered Green Curry with fried tofu. Green Curry with chicken was delivered to table, not the most prized dish for a vegetarian. Brought it to waitress' attention. She went back into kitchen and brought out what tasted like coconut milk with a touch of green curry in it. Yuck. Tofu that was not fried. Need I say more? Every other time the food we ate there the food was good, especially the Pho Noodle Soup. Bad day?

The food is awesome! Many vegetarian options, try the tofu it is amazing! I had the panang curry. It was authentic and delicious! Waitstaff is well-trained and attentive. Very enjoyable atmospheric! Had a great time and will definitely come back!

Don't shy away because it's in a hotel. The food is well cooked and seasoned and the staff is great. We tried 2 of the chicken seafood fried rice entree's and they were delicious. The simple salad had a lovely ginger dressing. The Long Island Ice Teas were just right.

Usually stayed away from places that said, "Chinese and Thai" food, they can't seem to do either well, should have a warning label: "Confused & Terrible" food. But when we first moved here 18mos ago, we were told Rainbow was pretty good, so in a town w/very limited Asian food options, we gave it a go. Surprised it was in a Best Western, seemed a little, dodgy. But we ordered anyway, only from the Chinese side of the menu and didn't try Thai. I should preface this by saying I'm Chinese and from HK, grew up in CA. So, I've been eating "real" Chinese since first bite of solid food and also able to cook a few pretty acceptable dishes myself, I know good Chinese food when I eat them. First time out, ordered Chinese to establish a baseline. Well, it was not terrible but not exactly authentic. It's okay, ingredients were fresh but not particularly Chinese, I give it 3 stars. Not authentic, your faux Chinese to be sure, but I wasn't that surprised being in a small Eastern TN city. As I said, Chinese was ok but not up to my standard. Then a Thai friend mentioned the best Thai food in the area is Rainbow. He assured me he know what he's talking about growing up in a Thai household. I had to convince my hubby to give Rainbow another go, he was skeptical to say the least but we did eventually go and glad we did. The Thai dishes have good favors in general. I disagree with reviewer that said it's too sweet. My husband hates sweet curry and he refuses to go to another Thai place in town because of that issue, but he enjoys their red curry, always order Thai-spicy. I hate when Asian places put a lot of bottled sriracha sauce and considered that cooking, well, I don't and the dishes just come up tasting like bottled sriracha sauce, lazy. I don't have that issue with Rainbow. Their Pad Thai and See Pad Ew are solid. Red curry and amazing curry, which is like peanut butter sauce, are two favorites of husband and son. We tried the soup noodle and a couple of other dishes, basil(?), can't remember exactly, that was a few weeks ago. But most everything is very good. Owner/Manager is very nice and friendly, but she's usually in the back and mostly served by their regular staff. The waiter or waitresses have a bit of turnovers, but my servers have always been competent and friendly. The inside of restaurant is little dark to me, but overall, the atmosphere and even the dishware are slightly more upscale that your "regular" Asian places and the prices are just as low. For being the best Thai in the area, I give it a five star.

Exceptional food presentation, choices, and quality! My meal was prompt and met with the owner personally to thank her for the services. They give substantial portions and everything was fresh. The service and the atmosphere was fantastic! I did not expect the inside to be so nice comparative to the outside. The restaurant seems to be run very smoothly and owner is very active in greeting the customers. The prices are reasonable, you get more than you paid for. The variety is the restaurant's greatest attributes, if you feel like thai, vietnamese, or great chinese food, it is all there. The presentation of the dishes is even better than the variety. This is a must try and I'll be coming back very soon.
